What Sentinel Cloud sends and stores
Updated 2026-10-22
Exactly what leaves your server, what is kept, and for how long.
Stored
- For each new alarm: a snapshot image and a small file with the alarm's details.
- Clips of alarms you lock as evidence, up to 100 MB each. Unlocked video is never uploaded.
- Kept 30 days on Sentinel Cloud and 90 on Business. When the quota fills, the oldest alarms are removed whole.
Passed through, not stored
- Remote viewing: live video, playback and app requests travel through the relay to your server and are not recorded. Your server keeps one outbound connection open; no inbound port is opened.
- Push notifications: the camera name, the alarm's one-line description, its severity and ID go to Apple's push service. The snapshot is not in the notification. Your phone's push token is kept so notifications can be delivered.
Account data
Your sentvms account, one entry per linked server with its name, platform and plan, and your subscription status. No camera names, streams or recordings are kept there.
Never reachable from outside
The relay only reaches the parts the apps need. The administration dashboard and the older v1 API are never exposed through it.
