One camera runs free forever, with full recording, live view, on-device AI detection, remote access, and the iPhone app. You create a free account once to download the app, but the camera itself runs without signing in and even works completely offline. You only pay when you add a second camera.

Additional cameras are $30/year each, billed through Stripe as a single subscription whose quantity equals the number of paid cameras you run. Add or remove cameras anytime and your subscription adjusts. If a payment lapses, Sentinel keeps your cameras running through a 30-day offline grace period before falling back to your free camera.

A flat $4.99/month (not per camera) that turns person alerts into Ring-style natural-language summaries like “a person in a red shirt carrying a bag, walking toward the door,” powered by Claude Haiku vision, up to 1,000 described alerts per month. Every other detection type runs on-device at no cost.

No. Video, recordings, and on-device AI all stay on your Mac. The only outbound calls are license validation for paid cameras and, only if you enable it, the optional AI Descriptions add-on, which sends a single downscaled frame to generate a one-line summary. Your free camera can run entirely offline.

You create a free account once to download the app (no card required) — it's also what keeps any future license in sync across reinstalls and machines. After that, your free first camera runs without signing in, even offline. You only use the account's billing side when you license additional cameras.

Add cameras from the Mac app's Upgrade screen, and the new limit takes effect immediately. Remove a camera and your next bill reflects the lower count. Manage or cancel the subscription anytime from the Stripe billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep your free camera.
